Big Brown Dad is a comedic fatherhood blog written from the perspective of a Mexican-American dad living, loving and learning in Los Angeles’ San Gabriel Valley.
Big Brown Dad is Carlos Aguilar, a multimedia writer and producer . Carlos has a BA in American Studies from Occidental College and an MA in the Philosophy of Religion and Ethics from Talbot School of Theology. His writing on music, religion, education and youth culture has appeared in Christianity Today, Sojourners, Prism and the San Gabriel Valley Tribune. Carlos has also written and produced television programs for networks such as TVGN, Lifetime, Hallmark, Current TV and Mun2. As a former hip hop artist known as Bookworm Brown, he’s performed across the US, Mexico, Guatemala, China and Japan.
